The Tri-State Human Resource Association (TRIHRA) is a non-profit organization that was established in Dubuque. It operates as a local branch of the national Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), a professional association that was originally formed as the American Society for Personnel Administration (ASPA) in 1948. TRIHRA is part of a vast network that includes over 450 professional chapters and 300 student chapters. The local chapter of TRIHRA boasts a membership of approximately 100 human resource professionals.
TRIHRA’s mission is to serve the HR community by fostering a synergistic environment where members can exchange knowledge and benefit from development opportunities. The organization is committed to empowering the HR profession through the advancement of human capital management, industry best practices, networking, and advocacy. TRIHRA envisions itself as the leading community resource in these areas.
The Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), to which TRIHRA is affiliated, is a global association that represents the interests of more than 115,000 professional and student members. It is dedicated to the advancement of the personnel/human resource profession.
