The 49th Annual Labor & Employment Law Institute, put together by ICLE, is a great place for lawyers and HR folks to learn about the latest in their field.

This conference talks about several different topics, like ADA, FMLA, FLSA, EEO, decisions made by the Supreme Court, and changes in Michigan’s laws. Attendees can look forward to learning about how artificial intelligence (AI) is used in law and HR, how to stop violence in the workplace, and more.

Adam Forman will be there to talk about how AI is changing things like hiring, managing performance, keeping data private, and ethics. Luther Wright will also be there to give tips on how to stop violence in the workplace from happening and how to calm things down if it does.

For lawyers, there will be talks about updates from the NLRB, possible changes to noncompete agreements, how to represent public employers when MERC changes things, and what Michigan’s law changes mean.

HR people can learn about employee handbook compliance, how to be transparent about pay and equality, how to fire employees who are on leave, and how to deal with issues that come up with remote work.

The goal of the conference is to give attendees the knowledge and tools they need to do well in labor and employment law.

When available, the following is an official description from the conference organizer:

Hear up-to-date, expert analyses on artificial intelligence (AI) for lawyers and HR, employee handbook audits, workplace violence prevention, and more. Get comprehensive updates on ADA, FMLA, FLSA, EEO, SCOTUS decisions, and Michigan statutory changes. Plus, stay on top of what’s new at the NLRB and MERC.

Adam Forman is back with practical AI insights on recruitment, performance management, data privacy, ethics, and more. Luther Wright also returns to share best practices for preventing and de-escalating workplace violence.
